Who is Robbie Watson?

Writer, Director, and award-winning Producer Robbie Watson has been a contributing editor and cover story writer for Mann About Town and Mann on The Street magazines, where she has profiled prominent New Yorkers including First Lady of NYC, Diana Taylor; co-founder of Liz Claiborne, Inc., Jerome Chazen; and Pulitzer Prize Nominee Joel Thome. She also writes inspirational profiles about the unsung hero, in addition to her original creative non-fiction works. She has been a public speaker at the Points of Light Foundation National Conference, the Yale Public Library, as well as at domestic abuse centers regionally. She recently co-authored the biography of a prominent NYC business family. The book is scheduled for publication in Fall 2014.

She conceptualized and produced the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Survival Series, as well as the Circle of Hope project, to benefit domestic violence shelters in the greater NYC area. She received national recognition from USA Today and the Points of Light Foundation, where she was honored as one of ten outstanding Americans for innovative community service and outstanding volunteerism. She is a recipient of the National Good Hands Award, The Violence Intervention Program’s Award for outstanding producing, and the Violence Intervention Program’s Angel Award for continued community service in Harlem and the Bronx.  She has been voted Dan’s Papers Best of The Best Writer for 2012, and 2013 as well as one of Dan’s Papers Best of The Best Personalities for 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Robbie has been featured in USA Today, WNBC New York, The Today Show, as well as on national radio segments and special guest segments on Drinks with Denise in the Hamptons. Recent projects have included co-producer of The Friday Night Jazz Series at Hotel Indigo, in addition to contributing written word and music as part of the worship team at LWC in East Hampton, New York.

In spring of 2014 she was privileged to be a guest speaker at several locations in Mississippi including the Trinity Baptist Church WMU 100th anniversary celebration Tea, Crossroads Church, and the Break Every Chain Conference.  She is honored to currently be working as a media marketing specialist for Pulitzer Prize Winner Lucinda Franks and former NY D.A. Robert Morgenthau in conjunction with the Memoir entitled TIMELESS: Love, Morgenthau, and Me.

Robbie is blessed to be participating as Master of Ceremonies for the 2015 Unfailing Love Women’s Conference in Central Mississippi.
